[Zelda's currently on her way to meet Ganondorf in the appropriate location. She hasn't dressed for the occasion in anything other than her royal regalia (though she hasn't been donning that as of late - she's more apt to be seen in leggings and a tunic more akin to Link's. It's easier to move in, get around in, and fight in). She thought of this as a diplomatic meeting between two enemies, attempting to discuss peace.

Making her way through the halls, she heads to the meeting point, feeling apprehensive. Things can't possibly end this easily.]

I appreciate it. [She slides through the open door, only letting her face slip when she knows he's behind her and can't see.

It's just one dinner. One dinner for the life of a man she doesn't even really know. This is forever the duty of the Princess of Hyrule; protect the people, the kingdom, the innocent. She doesn't mind at all and is quite happy to do it, but sometimes...she gets tired.]

[He slips in behind her and begins moving toward a table. Playing the gentleman again, he pulls out her chair for her.]

[She's a little surprised at his actions, but she doesn't show it. She can make it through this with little to no difficulty.]

[Which is true. Also, because well, he's Ganondorf. She's Zelda. They're triforce bearers. He's almost drawn to her. Can't help it really. Call it destiny or something.]

And I am the only one who is not. [She sounds disbelieving and wry - she hardly thinks that is his true reasoning. There must be something underlying, something motivating him.

Still - she can hardly look down on the arrangement. A life was spared, and all she has to do is sit through this.]

What is it that you want, Ganondorf? You cannot possibly be doing this simply for your own pleasure. So, let us please drop the facade, and be forthcoming with one another.

Of course. [She tries to keep the frustration out of her eyes. She's been trained at keeping a neutral expression since birth, so it isn't hard.]

It is a bit odd, to be quite frank with you. [And unnerving.]

Contrary to what is commonly assumed about me, I am not a complete monster. I am capable of conducting myself civilly.

[He doesn't bother trying to smile anymore. But his expression is neutral.]

It is only when others insist on raising my ire that I am forced to become a beast. And if it is how they would prefer I behave, then I will happily oblige them.

I never said you were a complete monster. You do, however, have your past working against you in regards to me. As far as the others go, your past actions also dictate what they think of you. Can you think of one person aboard this vessel that would be able to genuinely call you a friend?

[Her own expression is equally neutral.]

There is nothing forcing you to be come as such. I have told you before it is your own choice to have such a reaction. It is not how you have to act.

I'd rather not think of anyone on this ship in that regard. Unlike the rest of you, I have little use for "friends" and the like as they are only enemies who have yet to betray you.

Then you are bound to the lonely existence that you have sentenced yourself to. It can be a very lonely life when you alienate yourself. [She knows. She's been alienated by her position since she was born. Even here, she could only call a few true allies.

Shaking her head, she leans back and lets her hands fall into her lap.]

Should I make a friend, then what am I to do with the knife said friend is bound to leave in my back? Princess, people will do whatever they can to further their own interests. Including betraying one another.

Sad though it is, it is the truth. There can be no friendship without trust. I do not trust anyone on this vessel.
