Aug. 17th, 2009 10:44 am[There is a clunk, and by the way the person is talking, it sounds rather like someone has accidentally pressed a button on the communicator.]
What...is this magic? [The decidedly feminine voice is composed but strained, and there is evident confusion interlaced with a bit of suspicion. The speaker is examining the device, and as she begins to figure out how to use it, her voice strengthens, though her next words sound...tired.]
Where am I...? [She seems to be talking to herself, and her voice is faint; she isn't speaking directly into the device anymore.] How...odd.
[She clears her throat, then directs her voice into the communicator, fully intending on finding out just what is going on.]
Being as I am quite obviously not in Hyrule Castle, nor even Hyrule itself; I must ask for some sort of explanation. If there is someone out there that can offer that, I would be deeply indebted to you.

Date: 2009-08-17 04:09 pm (UTC)You're on a ship called the MS Elegante. You've been kidnapped, basically, I'm sorry to say...

Date: 2009-08-17 05:03 pm (UTC)...Kidnapped? That is extremely disturbing news, young man. [Another who speaks of this odd boat. Perhaps these people are not as insane as she had initially thought.
...That does not bode well in the Princess' mind.]

Date: 2009-08-17 05:30 pm (UTC)That's one of the least disturbing aspects of this place.
...um, is your name possibly... Zelda?
no subject
Date: 2009-08-17 06:37 pm (UTC)Perhaps she is insane.]
Yes. Princess Zelda of Hyrule. What might your name be...?
no subject
Date: 2009-08-17 06:42 pm (UTC)My name is Link, although I'm... not going to be the one you probably know.
[It is so weird saying something like that.]

Date: 2009-08-17 06:44 pm (UTC)She needs time to compose herself. She's only ever seen Link as a wolf, after all.
When Zelda finally does speak, she sounds composed, though the calmness is just the slightest bit forced.]
Not the one I know. Explain.

Date: 2009-08-17 06:47 pm (UTC)There are two people named Link here, both of us from Hyrule. Although the other one is from the future. Or... the future from my perspective.

Date: 2009-08-17 06:57 pm (UTC)If Link is your name, then certainly you are a Hero. [This made complete sense to Zelda.] Are you…[She wants to say ‘mine’, but she refrains.]
What…is Hyrule like? Where you are from, I mean. [His answer should place him in a timeline, at least in Zelda’s mind. Perhaps that would unfold a bit more of this mystery.
Either that, or complicate things further.]

Date: 2009-08-17 07:06 pm (UTC)Um, well... are there stories about the Hero of Time, where you're from?
no subject
Date: 2009-08-17 10:28 pm (UTC)Certainly. My father told them all to me when I was young.

Date: 2009-08-17 11:19 pm (UTC)no subject
Date: 2009-08-17 11:27 pm (UTC)You...are the Hero of Time? [Please, clarify this. She needs to hear it.]

Date: 2009-08-17 11:29 pm (UTC)[Awwwwkward. He doesn't really feel comfortable with that title even now, but if that's what he's going to be known as he has to use it.]

Date: 2009-08-17 11:34 pm (UTC)It is truly an honor to meet you.

Date: 2009-08-17 11:39 pm (UTC)[Totally getting more awkward and embarrassed. He never knows what to say when this comes up, so instead, he changes the subject.]
I wonder if you are from Link and Midna's time, then. Do you know them? Um... this other Link, he looks like he's about seventeen or eighteen, brown-haired, sort of a serious guy...
no subject
Date: 2009-08-18 12:05 am (UTC)[To Zelda it is nothing, but if he would like it to be seen as such, she can honor that.]
...I am from Midna's time yes. [The mention of the other Link causes her to pause again. She has not yet seen him as a human with her own eyes.] If...the other is from her time, then I suppose he is...[Hyrule's Hero] the Link from my time.

Date: 2009-08-18 01:40 am (UTC)...I haven't seen him the past few days, though. I'm starting to worry.
no subject
Date: 2009-08-18 01:53 am (UTC)...That is...certainly troublesome. Now word of any sort...? [The concern crept into her voice, despite never having actually spoken with him.]
no subject
Date: 2009-08-18 01:58 am (UTC)[Where IS he, anyway? Link detects the concern in her voice, though, and is quick to comfort her.]
But - but don't worry. In the worst case scenario, he'll be back soon.
no subject
Date: 2009-08-18 02:19 am (UTC)What do you mean, he will be back soon?
no subject
Date: 2009-08-18 02:16 pm (UTC)I mean just that. Don't worry about him, Princess. He'll be fine.
The ship isn't safe right now. Can you tell me what room you're in? I'll come get you if you want.
no subject
Date: 2009-08-19 01:04 pm (UTC)I believe the...other Princess is on her way. [It's clear Zelda has a difficult time with this. She should not be on board a boat with figures from the legendary past.]
But I...would very much like to meet you in person, if you would not mind. I...think I need to see you for myself. [To believe it.]
no subject
Date: 2009-08-19 02:23 pm (UTC)What room are you in? If you step outside your door, you can see it.
no subject
Date: 2009-08-19 02:38 pm (UTC)I am in room sixty two zero seven.
no subject
Date: 2009-08-20 03:03 am (UTC)[With that, he clicks his communicator off and heads towards the stairwells. After a few minutes, he finally finds it. 6207, right...?
There's a gentle knock.]
