[There is a clunk, and by the way the person is talking, it sounds rather like someone has accidentally pressed a button on the communicator.]

What...is this magic? [The decidedly feminine voice is composed but strained, and there is evident confusion interlaced with a bit of suspicion. The speaker is examining the device, and as she begins to figure out how to use it, her voice strengthens, though her next words sound...tired.]

Where am I...? [She seems to be talking to herself, and her voice is faint; she isn't speaking directly into the device anymore.] How...odd.

[She clears her throat, then directs her voice into the communicator, fully intending on finding out just what is going on.]

Being as I am quite obviously not in Hyrule Castle, nor even Hyrule itself; I must ask for some sort of explanation. If there is someone out there that can offer that, I would be deeply indebted to you.

It spreads throughout the land like a diseases; causing Hyrule's inhabitants to move as ghosts, spirits. They see...darkness. They fear. They do not understand. [Her hand balls into a fist.] It is only through my surrender that they still live, and if I am here...[She ground her teeth.]

Then I do not know what will become of them. [She took a slow, even breath. Once she had regained her composure, she was able to listen to the rest of Zelda's words.]

Then...how are we returned home? [If not by their own desires...then...what? Just the crew...? That felt so very wrong
indeed.
]

The crew. They are...hospitable people?

...I... see...

[She's not even sure what to say. Perhaps it's empathy, but Zelda seems to feel just as distressed. It seems that unlike her, the other Zelda has no one else to watch Hyrule in her absence. She at least has Impa and the other Sages, and her own Hero of Time to help Hyrule in its reconstructive efforts.

But to be able to do everything and anything for the people... She can relate to it all, and her companion's words strike her hard.]

...Let us hope for the best. In this place, at times we can only hold the ideal within the palms of our hands. It is a powerful implement. We may not be able to help our people directly, but there are those aboard that we can help. If we so choose to.

[She thinks. How do they return home? Zelda doesn't have an answer to this. Not specifically.]

I... am afraid I do not know at this point. It is an answer we are all seeking. It is the one thing that ties all of us together.

[And just like that, her demeanor changes at the thoughts of the crew. Kage, in particular. She feels a great animosity for him. She feels a great hatred for him. For what he's allowed her to do. For what he coerced her into. For exposing her weakness.]

...They are not to be trusted. Not a single one. Hold your guard up carefully. Your kindness here will be contrived as weakness. You should always be wary and observant and look for the deeper meaning to the words that are showered upon you.

Mmm. [She makes a noncommittal noise in the back of her throat, the expression on her face perplexed. Hopeing for the best had not yet gotten Zelda very far, though she had never once lost faith in the Hero. She supposed that in itself was reason enough not to lose it.

Zelda is a very perceptive individual; reading people is something she prides herself on, and is also something that she is very good at. She had always supposed that had been partially her fathers insistence she always be aware, and also because of the essence of Nayru herself. So when her new companions demeanor changed in an instant, Zelda had to wonder just what had happened to cause this change.

I…see. I will most certainly keep that in mind. [Something to think on, certainly.]

[To think this woman before her is a relation of sorts. A descendant. It really does prove that one day in her own time, she'll be married and birth offspring. She's upset about this, but not in the way where it's detrimental toward Her Majesty Zelda. Rather that it's personal and sentimental attachment that only further proves 'eternity' is just another word used in books to toy with the minds and thoughts of innocent people.

She sighs, trying to think of where to go from there.]

You must be hungry. Are you at all interested in finding something to fill your appetite? We may discuss more about the ship, its inhabitants, and its environment if such would please you.

[This is all very hard to believe. The woman before her confirmed her suspicions with her words; Zelda now stood before her ancestor, who was, instead of being older and remarkably more wrinkled, in her prime. It was a difficult concept to accept.]

I am.[She was starving. The prospect of a decent meal sounded wonderful.] I would also be very…pleased if you could tell me whatever you can of this ship, yes. [Idle, gloved fingers brush against the folds of her gown; not so very long ago the material had been cold, damp, and lifeless in that tower. Here, that was no longer so. The change in environment was remarkable. She had to admit, it was…refreshing.]

[When she's alone, she'll spend as much time as she needs to contemplating everything. Right now, she'll focus her attention onto her other. Daughter. Granddaughter. Something. Zelda hasn't quite figured this part out yet. The offspring of her offspring in some aspect.

She lifts her right hand, thinking little of the gesture, and beckons for the other to follow after her as she briskly makes for the door.

So... where to take her? She's fond of Sergei's Bar and Grille for the sake of the memories. There's also Kuma Ko, which has recently garnered her respect with thanks to Jak. That might be too far off in left field for her companion, however.]

There is a nice establishment below us by three decks. I should think it will capture your fancy just fine. Stay close to me--if you would. Odd events have claimed the vessel as of late. It would... be a bit of a shame should something befall you when you were in my midst.

She follows her quickly, and one out the door, she pushes the door shut behind her.
]

Alright. [She sounds mildly amused; though it isn’t at Zelda’s expense, it is more at…the strangeness of the situation, at the surreal feeling creeping throughout her body.]

Certainly, though I am not one without means. [Weaponless, yes. Defenseless? Not so much.] What sort of odd events do you speak of…?

[At least she's beginning to sound a little better. That spells some relief for the younger princess. It's amazing how her stature can change so quickly. She's beginning to compare herself to her elder--which makes so little sense as they're allowed to be worlds apart. Just because they look similar doesn't mean they need to live the same way. They aren't twins.

Zelda peers over her shoulder at the other for a moment. No kidding, Her Majesty. She's just managed to prove to at least a couple aboard how much it'd really bite to be on the bad side of Hyrule's Royal Family. Powerless isn't exactly something that's going to be defined of them any longer.]

The first rule that should be noted aboard this ship is that it is not without severe consequence that physical assault is 'rewarded'. The second is that should you die--and that is most certainly a possibility--it is not with the effect that it remains permanent.

[She shakes her head once.] I am still recovering from my own. In my return, it seems the ship's inhabitants suffered--myself included--a lapse of good judgment and the inability to control one's... 'passions' more or less, to put it lightly.

Although the ship has grown quiet since then, I... hardly think it is the end to this chapter of this torment. It seems no one has readily come forward as to what the source of the conflict is and as a result, we are currently unable to determine our standing or reach a resolution.

…Death is…not permanent? [That seems a frightening concept to Zelda; death was, after all, inevitable for everyone. That takes a moment to absorb, and she almost does not hear Zelda’s next words.]

You have…recently perished? And you stand before me. [Again, difficult to accept. She idly wonders what she meant by ‘passions’; the intonation used when saying it led Zelda to believe that she was rather lucky to have missed it.]

So for now, we wait. [There seemed little else to do; with out a clear source of conflict, it was difficult to find a solution, as she had said. Most troublesome.]

[She's right there with you on that. Zelda doesn't seem to like the idea at all. In fact, she'll admit that her immediate thoughts were of Ganondorf. Not that he had died, of course, but that in the case he did on ship, give or take a day, or two, or three, or however many was necessary, he would come back.

It wasn't exactly something she liked.]

Quite so, Your Majesty. Unlike me, however, most tend to remember dying and how they died.

[Her expression turns less than kind and she stops at the elevator, pressing the button for the doors to open. With a hand, she waves Zelda in.]

This will take us much quicker than were we to use stairs. An implement of utter convenience and one of the good things aboard.

That uneasiness turns to suspicion, however; her companions expression change has her stopped in her tracks, as does that…thing.

[She pauses at the elevator beside her descendant and smiles reassuringly.]

It is called an elevator. It nullifies the use for the stairs, for on this ship, there are many decks and you may not always have the time to take stairwell after stairwell after stairwell. This is a luxury aboard the ship. One of the few.

Come on then. I will show you.

Then she gestures with her free hand on the side.]

The numbers are for the decks. If there is a particular one you wish to visit, you select it. It is fairly straight forward.

To the point where her own actions may be influenced by her, where she may change herself to better suit a Hyrule that is not even hers.]

Creatures made of metal.

[Like Bumblebee, Zelda presumes the other is speaking. She hasn't even met them all yet. And speaking of Bumblebee...]

I think once you have grown past the surprise, you will find that there is a great deal of knowledge that may benefit you. A captive or not, it is not justified to simply place aside anything you may be pursuing. After all, you may find something of use in your stay here.

Knowledge itself is infinite. It is given definition by what someone chooses to do with that knowledge. You do not need me to tell you that, however. You have likely known all along.

I have heard that when people leave, they tend to be returned to their original times and their original homelands. I could not speak for certainty as I do not know. When the original Hero of Time from my time left, I believe he was returned to Hyrule.
